When I was preparing for my first Olympics, I had no one who’d done it before me. No Australian had ever competed in skimo at the Games. I was managing ankylosing spondylitis — a chronic arthritic inflammatory condition — while training at altitude in Colorado & France, working remotely for peanuts, navigating foreign bureaucracies, and figuring out race logistics solo.

I made a lot of mistakes. I also figured out a lot of things the hard way. Now I want to give other people the shortcuts I never had.

Athletes who want to get better; at skimo, trail running, or both. People managing a chronic illness who refuse to let it be the ceiling. Anyone doing something no one around them has done before. People navigating a move abroad and building a life from scratch in a new country. Skimo Coaching in Australia doesn’t exist properly yet. I’m here to change that.
